Confidence Towards God

Since we gave our friend Todd Parsons a vacation of sorts, while we had our series based on our first trip to San Jose, Costa Rica, we get blessed by him two Saturdays in a row.  As usual, Todd has some great meditations to carry us a little closer to our Lord.  And, as usual, Todd makes us think.  But definitely spiritual thoughts.

There's a standard greater than our own.  Greater than our own imaginations.  When we hear "wisdom" from others, we need to be careful that we don't take in the world's wisdom, careful we're not fed by Satan.  Indeed, when we teach others, we need to be sure we're not giving them a spiritual banquet straight from the world, the flesh, and the devil.  That's the thought Todd has gleaned from today's journey into the Word.  Let's travel with him.

Proverbs 24:5  A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increases strength.

James 3:15,17,18  ...This wisdom descends not from above, but is first earthly, sensual, devilish... But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.  And the fruit of righteousness if sown in peace of them that make peace.

If a wise man is strong according to the scriptures and the scriptures also indicate the difference between wisdom that is from above and wisdom that is from below, then I think it safe to say that one of the two wisdom's is the only one that gives strength and the other weakens a man...

1 Corinthians 3:9,10  Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him.  But God has revealed them unto us by His Spirit: For the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God.

1 John 3:20-21  For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. Beloved if our heart condemns us not, then we have CONFIDENCE toward God.

CONFIDENCE toward God! How great is that in a world that is shrinking back from the idea of God, even denying the existence of God, or even those trying desperately to live up to some standards placed on them to be pleasing to God by those who don't know God themselves. Can man truly have a CONFIDENCE toward God, knowing his identity before God? YES! When a man receives the love that God has toward man that Calvary's Cross displayed for us; that love from God does something marvelous in a man's heart by God's Spirit. God's love, by God's Spirit regenerates a genuine love in man back towards God and a reciprocation of this Great Love is set in motion... Strength unseen, strength unheard, and strength that has not entered into the heart of man outside of this wisdom and knowledge that is from above, is a STRONG CONSOLATION, (Hebrews 6:18), from God that is our "CONFIDENCE TOWARDS GOD!!!"

Of So Great Love, we are, tjp
