God always does something wonderful through my friend Todd Parsons.  This one's titled "In This Will I Be Confident‏"  And it gives us lots to be confident in.

Philippians 3:3b   ...worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

Psalm 27:3-4  Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.  One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in His temple.

1 John 3:20-21  For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
Beloved, if our heart condemns us not, then have we confidence towards God.

When it comes to confidence there is a certain yielding and unfolding of ourselves to that which we are confident, like unto a flower opening before the sun and closing before the darkness and cold. To that which we are confident; protection, reservation, hiding are actions we leave behind and we make ourselves vulnerable, but revealing life that has been hidden. Again, opening to that which we are confident...
In the garden, Adam & Eve lost something very important to them, thus they hid from the presence of God. They lost confidence towards God... Their confidence was not lost, but they placed it somewhere else. You and I daily have this battle of choice of what or to whom we will yield and unfold our trust to. Much of the time we are confident in that which is a probability overlooking the fact of Who God is, what He has done and what He has said, each one is a sure thing, i.e, 100% guaranteed...

Psalm 27:8  When You said, Seek My face; my heart said unto You, Your face, LORD, will I seek.

Psalm 27:13-14  I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.  Wait upon the LORD: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart: wait I say, on the LORD.

We are in Costa Rica and having a blast.  I'm getting to share some devotionals, the people are awesome, and souls are being won.  You can still help financially.  the "Send Bill to Costa Rica" GoFundMe link is to the left.  But, whether you donate or not, the most important thing you can add to this work are your prayers.  There will be a series of posts about the trip and the spiritual things coming out of it.  There's too much to say to limit it to a few paragraphs or even one post.

You may have noticed that we had a regular post on Saturday and this guest post is on Monday.  The hostel where I was staying has wifi that, at night, can disappear with no warning, come back, go again, etc.  And I'm good at hitting the wrong button.  So, while shorter than our usual posts, you have a longer time to meditate on it before something new draws your attention.
