We're taking a break from sharing some of the goodies from the Exponential conference.  The next of that series will be on Friday, more to come next week.  We're also working on our next monthly devotional book, for November.

Today, we get a double header.  Todd Parsons takes us on a sweet trip through some of the Psalms and Proverbs.  Then we have a special treat from my friend Adriel Hong.

Ps 143:8  Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You do I trust; cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You.

Ps 140:13  Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name; The upright shall dwell in Your presence.

Prov 29:16  When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increases: but the righteous shall see their fall.

Prov 29:23  A man's pride shall bring him low: but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.

Prov 29:25  The fear of man brings a snare: but whoso puts his trust in the Lord shall be safe.

Before the LORD i can stand because a free gift He has given, His free gift received...His righteousness. Standing with the LORD shall i be safe. Lord cause me to hear Your lovingkindness this morning...

Adriel Hong is becoming one of my favorite Christian singers and songwriters.  She's gaining a growing fanbase on Google+ and YouTube.  I think you'll learn to love her stuff as much as I do. We're sharing one of her own compositions.  Her YouTube commentary is this:

"To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified." (Isaiah 61:3)  You can read about the story behind the song at:

Adriel's blog is filled with background stories about  her compositions.  But, before you jump there, here's her "All Things New":

We'll have more from the Exponential conference on Friday.  I hope you are now as big an Adriel Hong fan as I am.  Her YouTube page is here: .
