Hearing Words of My Father's Love‏

Yesterday, our August devotional went up for sale on Amazon.  It's called Amethyst - Priestly Purple, subtitled Entering Heavenly Places.  We put a link at the end of the post.  In the meantime, let's think about what Todd Parsons has to say to us, today.

It's so very easy, in such a politically correct society as ours, to mix up roles, values, priorities.  Sometimes, piecing the right bits of information together can make the illogical seem to make sense. But God and His love don't work that way. And Todd shows us a clear contrast.

And the king  said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other.  Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it,  (1 Kings 3:25-26).

King Solomon received wisdom from the Lord. He sought the Lord for wisdom to know how to lead God's people.  The wisdom from above makes for us a clear distinction as to what is life and what is not.  The wisdom that came from Solomon for this situation in 1 Kings 3, displayed a clear distinction as to which woman was the real mother of the child.

The Lord also displays His wisdom for us to make a clear distinction as to who was Father and LORD of all, in much the same way.  The giving of His Son, reveals who our Father really is and what He is not.  The distinction that love makes, is clearly shown to us at the Cross.  The Living Word laying down His life for you and I, reveals "no greater love".  That the Father would give His Son and that the Son would give His life to be slain for us, that Eternal Life could be reborn in those who would receive His Word, today... RUN to the Cross.  The Cross is our strong tower to run into and be safe...  We need the hearing of our Father's words each day to be renewed in our minds to His Spirit, His Life, and His Love...

As You hast given Him power over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.  And this is life eternal, that they might know You the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent, (John 17:2-3).

The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runs into it, and is safe, (Prov 18:10).

For I have given unto them the words which You gave to Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from You, and they have believed that You did send Me, (John 17:8).

Of So Great Love, we are, tjp
