Walkin' On Thin Ice?

It's Wednesday and time for one of our guest posts.  Todd Parsons is back with a devotional that should bless all of you.  We'll continue with our personal series on Friday.

Because of the fall of Adam, we have this inherent OSN (Old Sin Nature), that says, "I've got it,  I don't need your leadership God. I know the way.".  Yet I have noticed in me this juggling act trying to balance out good and evil, right and wrong, and holding myself responsible for the consequences without mercy.  I have observed others yet casting off restraint, to release themselves from that false burden within, living in lawlessness, which has its own false burdens of a different authority.

The idea of these two burdens is anything but God's reign. "I wonder who's in charge of that mindset?" The Thief?  When I set my own opinion to reign instead of Him whose opinion matters, i.e., God's, I put myself in seat of the judge.  I will find when it comes to judging myself that I myself am walking on thin ice, for I am a judge without mercy.

The LORD would have us to let Him reign as judge and to be established in the grace of Who He is. Because of the fall and our inherent nature, we have not known the LORD till we humble ourselves from our reign to His.  It is only through the humility of faith in the Word and to His Spirit that we will know Him in the now.

For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome, Jer 29:11. AMPLIFIED

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." Matt 11:28-30
