Connected to the Source of Life‏

What kind of person we become is important.  Today's guest devotional from Todd Parsons highlights that.

Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivers from death, Prov 11:4.

He that trusts in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch, Prov 11:28.

In the book of Revelation, we can see, as we read, that it is a time when the Lord will pour out His wrath upon the earth and the inhabitants of the earth.  I dare say that these verses in Proverb 11 show man that there is no refuge for them in their riches, even though that is what is most sought after for security, as they inhabit the earth.  In that day, it is better to have a right standing with the Lord, though it will be painful to see those you have loved undergo such because they refused to listen to the testimony of God's Word.  They that are lowly will be by His side as inhabitants of heaven, thus 'a right standing', or i.e., righteousness is the Lord's, to which He now freely gives as fruit of the tree of life to those who would bow their ear to listen and receive from Him the words of eternal life.  It is they that will be the wise, the delivered, them that flourish as a branch and connected to the source of life...

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that wins souls is wise, Prov 11:30.

When pride comes, then comes shame: but with the lowly is wisdom, Prov 11:2.
