You Judge and Eat of the Tree of Life‏

If you missed the news in our previous post, we’ve added some code to the site so that merely mousing over a Scripture reference will allow a tooltip box to display the actual verse.  So, even if we only include just the reference, you’ll be able to see the entire passage.

Once again, here’s one of our favorites.  It’s another Todd Parsons devotional:

The Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat:
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it: for in the day that you eat thereof you shalt surely die, (Genesis 2:16-17)

When the woman saw that the tree was...a tree to be desired to make one wise, (Genesis 3:6)

Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit, (Matthew 7:17-18)

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof, (Proverbs 18:21)

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree, (Galatians 3:13)

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree, (Acts 5:30)

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil, (Proverbs 3:7)

We all know that the judgement of Adam and Eve of what wisdom is did not prove to be wisdom. It is the fruit of that tree we eat of today, judging for ourselves what is good and evil.

Our one exception for is that we judge and choose to eat of the Tree of Life. This Tree of life in our own judgement is not a tree of life, but a tree of death. For Life to come from death is only possible through God, for it is only He that can make something out of nothing. He obtained eternal redemption for by His own blood, See Hebrews 9:12.
