To Hear the Secret of the Lord

It's Wednesday.  Here's another great Todd Parsons devotional.

The secret [of the sweet, satisfying companionship] of the Lord have they who fear (revere and worship) Him, and He will show them His covenant and reveal to them its [deep, inner] meaning, Ps 25:14. AMP

For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous(them that received His gift of righteousness), Prov 3:32.

[Adam's likeness deceives us three ways. First, it makes us unbelieving by causing us to fail to go to God's yardstick, the Word. Second, unbelief leads us to be proud by trying to build ourselves up in the eyes of others. Finally, pride causes us to rebel against God's commandments. The product is fallen humanity, godless because they do not walk by the Spirit and faithless because they do not read, study, and receive God's Word.

Luke 19:14 states, "...We will not have this man to reign over us."  Our basic problem is that we have a nature that sins. It keeps us from going by the Word of God, makes us proud, and causes us to be rebellious because, just like Adam, we have been alienated from the very life of God.] -- This is a quote from an old booklet I have from my late Pastor-teacher, Carl H. Stevens, entitled, "As God Sees It" under the subtitle, "The Result of Pride: Rebellion". This I think he wrote during the late 70's.

We, as those having the heart of a child before the Lord, have His secret...knowing His LIFE, i.e., what He has done and who He is... We are not occupied with the opinion this world has of Him, Lu.19:14. A stranger's voice we will not hear...

Of So Great Love, we are, tjp
