Come to the Table, Feast, and Stand

It's been awhile since we've shared a Todd Parsons devotional.  We're long overdue.  So, here's one of the latest:

If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small, Pr.24:10.

We eat to have strength to meet physical demands.  I can easily say I buckle under adversity.  So, what shall I eat that I may stand?  I see here, what I am thinking is food for me to eat.  What then do I feast on?

Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that you may be wise in the latter end. There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand, Pr.19:20-21.

Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part You shall make me to know wisdom, Ps.51:6.

There is a wisdom in man that is not coming down from the LORD and there is a strength that does come from Him.  The strength of this wisdom is revealed in the day of adversity.  It is the LORD's wisdom and counsel that shall stand.  I need not be troubled at my fainting heart though, I am welcome at His table to start the feasting... He says, "come".

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want...He prepares a table for me, Ps. 23.

Of Great Love, we are, tjp
