How Do I Measure...?

Here's another awesome guest minipost from Todd Parsons:

How do I measure myself today?  Maybe I haven't been too unkind to anyone or maybe not?  Maybe what I've done seems better than most or maybe not?  Maybe circumstances are flowing smoothly or maybe not? Here is the way to really measure myself.  With a ruler, a standard, a plumb line...

We measure with the One Who created us, the One Who knows how we are to tick, is the standard to which I compare.  He is perfect and I don't even compare.  That is what I/we need to see! We tend to want to blow it off.  But the place of meekness is to stand there in the place of "God is right and I am not"...  Without murmuring, say to God "What now?...".  There we will find His Mercy. He will show us a new standard.  That judgment came upon Jesus Christ instead of upon us.  And He was already raised from the dead on our behalf.  Justifying those who believe and trust this standard of Grace and His Grace alone...  We let the buck stop there...  We let the measuring stop here and we occupy (focus and concentrate) our hearts with this Grace (Pr.16:6).  By mercy and truth iniquity is purged, by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil (or the tree of knowledge of good and evil)...

Of Great Love, tjp
