God's First Love, The Other Trees

Here's a guest mini-post from Todd Parsons:

When I consider Adam and Eve and the garden, I often first think of the tree of knowledge of good and evil as the only tree that was in the garden... "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat", says the Lord to Adam in Gen.2:16.

In my mind I ask what happened to the other trees, not to mention the tree of life, i.e. why is there an emphasis on the one tree that blinded their hearts then, and often my heart today.  That God had greatly provided for them and spared only this one tree.  Satan(the slanderer), has a ministry of diverting attention from what God has first provided and he(Satan) continues his work, even today. Although, today, his emphasis is that he does not exist.  To some, this is called operating in "stealth" mode...that we would only focus on that which is physical and natural, and give no attention to the spiritual.  I'm not talking about chasing him (Satan) down. I'm talking about the other "trees".  All that the Lord has first loved us with by providing for us.  That we, all too often, tend to have our attention diverted from.

God has given so much more than we have our attention on. Let us go after God's first love and receive from Him all He has intended for us by not being simple and easily turned away. My son keep My words... as the apple of your eye, Pr.7:1-4. So that you will not walk in the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night, Pr.7:9.
